Porn & Sex Addiction Counseling in Fleming Island & Northeast Florida

You Keep Telling
Yourself This Will
Be the Last Time.

Maybe you've promised yourself you'd stop watching porn. You've deleted apps, installed filters, made commitments, prayed, confessed, or tried to simply use more willpower.

And then it happens again.

If sexual behavior has started to feel out of control, you don't have to keep fighting it alone.

You Are Not Alone

You Are Not Alone

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

You've promised yourself—or someone you love—that you would stop.

You do well for a while, but eventually find yourself going back.

Pornography or sexual behavior has become a way of escaping stress, loneliness, rejection, boredom, or other difficult emotions.

You're hiding things, deleting history, minimizing what happened, or living with secrets.

Your behavior has escalated in frequency, intensity, or risk.

Your marriage or relationship has been damaged by pornography, infidelity, or dishonesty.

You're tired of the shame that follows, but shame itself seems to drive you back into the cycle.

You want more than another promise to stop. You want something to actually change.

I've spent years helping men understand and change these patterns. You don't have to shock me, impress me, or have everything figured out before you come in.

Understanding the Cycle

Understanding the Cycle

Why Can't I Just Stop?

Because the behavior is usually only part of the story.

Pornography and sexual behavior can become connected to much more than sexual desire. For some men, it becomes a way of escaping stress. For others, loneliness, rejection, insecurity, boredom, anger, shame, or feeling like a failure can become part of the cycle.

Trigger → Urge → Ritual → Acting Out → Shame → Promise to Stop → Trigger

That's why simply trying harder often hasn't been enough. In therapy, we'll work on both sides of the problem: learning how to interrupt the behavior while also understanding what keeps driving you back to it.

Therapist Credibility

Counseling That's Practical, Honest, and Focused on Real Change

I've worked with hundreds of men over the past 16 years around pornography, sexual behavior, relationships, intimacy, and related concerns.

We'll work to understand your particular patterns, identify what makes you vulnerable to acting out, develop practical strategies for responding differently, and address the emotional, relational, and spiritual issues that may be keeping the cycle going.

The goal isn't simply to help you stop doing something. It's to help you build a life in which you no longer need to keep escaping into it.

You may be carrying guilt over choices you've made, shame about what you've become, fear about what would happen if people really knew you, or frustration because you've prayed and promised God you would stop—and then found yourself doing it again.

My biblical and theological training allows us to take those concerns seriously. We can talk honestly about repentance, grace, integrity, temptation, forgiveness, sexuality, marriage, and spiritual formation without reducing your struggle to simply “pray harder and try harder.”

Christian integration is available when you want it. It isn't something I force on clients.

Marriage and Partner Impact

Marriage and Partner Impact

Has Pornography or Sexual Behavior Damaged Your Marriage?

Recovery isn't only about stopping a behavior.

When there has been secrecy, pornography, infidelity, or other sexual betrayal, the partner who discovers it may be dealing with anger, confusion, grief, fear, and a profound loss of trust.

I also work with couples navigating the aftermath of sexual betrayal. Drawing from my training in the Gottman Method and other couples approaches, we can work toward honesty, accountability, repairing trust, healthier communication, and—when both partners desire it—rebuilding emotional and sexual intimacy.

Your spouse's healing matters too.

What Happens When We Get Started?

You don't need to arrive with a perfect explanation for why this keeps happening. Early sessions will quickly clarify the pattern: what tends to trigger it, what happens before and after, what you've already tried, how the behavior has affected your life and relationships, and what you want to change.

From there, counseling will focus on practical strategies for interrupting the cycle, understanding the emotional and relational factors underneath it, strengthening honesty and accountability, and building healthier ways of responding to urges, stress, loneliness, shame, and other vulnerabilities.

I provide an active and optimistic approach to counseling: you get greater understanding, practical tools, and specific work to carry into life outside the office.
